B. Free was established by two design professionals who wanted to use their professional training to make a difference. Our co-founders:
Joseph G. Brin is an architect, fine artist, writer and teacher based in Philadelphia, PA.
Jordan Michelle Gil is an exhibit designer, fine artist and retail specialist originally from Miami, FL.
Our ambassador/mentors for May 12, 2012:
Christopher McManus is a filmmaker and sculptor who experiments with video, animation and puppetry.
An arts-based program to envision and promote a bully-free Philadelphia. Schoolchildren are guided to express themselves through art that is transformed into a digital quilt for public display on the web and outdoor banners. The long-term goal of the organization is to have these images transformed into “buswraps” that will travel through the city sending out a positive message to the public that Philadelphia must be bully-free.
B. Free produces a one-day annual art workshop:
1. Art students and arts professionals mentor the event and receive a gift for their efforts
2. Schoolchildren keep their art supply kit as a reward for participation
3. We have a cupcake party!
B. Free programming for schools throughout the year is in development.
